There are a lot of things to remember when you are starting a new business and we understand that putting in place contracts for the staff you are going to employ may not be the most exciting. It is, however, important that you do not relegate this task to the bottom of your priority list as not only is it a legal requirement that employers provide all workers with a written statement of their terms and conditions from the first day of their employment or engagement, there will never be a better time to prepare contracts, policies and procedures which really suit your business’ needs.

For a one-off payment of £250 plus VAT, the Start-up Business Package provides the essential employment documents together ongoing support so that you can add to these and be fully prepared to become an employer.
The essential documents included in the Start-up Business Package are:
- a template contract of employment (or casual worker agreement)
- a staff handbook containing a disciplinary procedure, a grievance procedure, an equality policy, and a communications policy.
We will work with you to ensure that the documents are correctly drafted for your business and, after these are ready for you to issue to staff, provide advice on non-contentious employment law matters at a discounted hourly rate of £125 plus VAT for six months.
We appreciate that new businesses must strike a balance between taking advice where it is needed and avoiding unnecessary costs. With this in mind, the Start-up Business Package does not tie you into a contract but instead provides the essential employment documents together with affordable support for you to access as and when you need it.
All businesses are eligible for the Start-up Business Package for two years following incorporation or starting trading.
