You may be wondering at this point if J.K. Rowling has agreed to write a new Harry Potter play and has decided to find a role for a northern law firm but alas not yet!
Jacksons has of course got form in the fame stakes most particularly in 1993 when Elvis Costello and the Brodsky Quartet immortalised the firm with a track named Jacksons Monk and Rowe on the Juliet Letters album which reached number 18 in the UK charts. More recently our very own Simon Catterall is rumoured to have based some of the characters in his debut novel Hob Hole published last year on former partners of the firm. We are all wondering who may feature in the sequel!
However I am using this title not to talk about literature but to tell you about the venue for the new Jacksons Newcastle breakfast club to be launched on Thursday 6th October this year. The club will be held in the newest Newcastle venue to be known as The Secret Tower but formerly known as Sallyport Tower. Sallyport Tower was built between 1265 & 1307 and once formed part of the main defensive fortifications of Newcastle city walls. In recent years the tower has lain derelict until renovated by Kevin Radcliffe, renown local photographer. It has acquired its new name because hardly anyone seems to know it is there.
The tower has been converted into a unique venue space and will be used for weddings and corporate events. One of the conditions for this Grade 1 listed building is that it is open to the public twice a year for the city’s heritage open days and it is certainly worth a look but one of the best ways to visit this tower soon is to accept an invite to Jacksons new monthly breakfast networking meeting to be held in The Secret Tower.
The breakfast club will be an opportunity for networking with breakfast and a speaker and the first meeting will take place on Thursday 6th October at 8.30am. We are really excited about this new venture. Places will be limited due to venue size so if you would like to make sure you are definitely on the invite list please contact our marketing manager Karen Robinson – firstname.lastname@example.org I look forward to seeing you there.
