Cash for Kids is the official charity of Metro Radio, raising money for local disabled and disadvantaged children. All the money raised by Cash for Kids stays in the North East with a contribution rate of at least 90p in every £1 donated (compared to the national average of 56p in every £1).
Their grants go towards buying specialist equipment for children to enhance their quality of life. These are given to other children’s charities and organisations to help them undertake projects and new initiatives, or to ensure that much needed services can continue to provide essential care and support. At the meeting Charity Manager, Dan Slee, will be discussing the work of the charity in the North East, who they help and the annual Mission Christmas appeal which is the biggest campaign of the year for Cash for Kids. The aim of the appeal is to ensure that every child wakes up to a Christmas gift and believes in the magic of the festive season – irrespective of their personal circumstance.
