Solicitor Apprenticeships at Jacksons
Jacksons Law Firm is pleased to offer Solicitor Apprenticeships. Our application window for apprenticeships commencing in September 2025 will open in the new year. This page will be updated at that time with details of how to apply.
About the Role
The Solicitor Apprentice route is ideal for aspiring solicitors who have recently completed their A-Levels or are soon due to complete their A-Levels.
The Solicitor Apprenticeship route allows you to work towards becoming a qualified solicitor, without the need to first complete an undergraduate degree.
Throughout the six-and-a-half-year apprenticeship, you will undertake the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship programme with the University. You will complete all of the required theoretical and practical learning with the University before sitting both Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQEs) in years five and six. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will generally spend four days a week working within the firm, with the other day spent studying remotely. There will be elements of the programme which require ‘block delivery’ and study leave will be provided to enable this.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be placed in different departments within the firm including both personal and business areas of law. You will gain valuable experience and knowledge in one of the longest-established and respected firms in the northeast, working alongside expert lawyers in their respective fields. You will be involved in all areas of practice, from administrative work to complex legal cases, to manage your clients and caseload. This practical experience will help you to build on your knowledge and aid you in your studies. You will be supervised throughout the whole apprenticeship and will be assigned a supervisor and mentor to support and guide you.
If you would like more ‘insider’ information on what this role will entail, our first Solicitor Apprentice has written an article on his experience which can be found here.
