Employment Documents Audit

Posted on 11th January, 2017

The beginning of a New Year marks a great time to take stock and prepare for the months ahead. However, businesses need not wait until the end of the financial year to review their employment contracts, staff handbooks, policies and procedures – Jacksons Law Firm are offering a FREE Employment Documents Audit throughout January and February 2017.

If your business is amongst the first 25 businesses to take us up on our offer then we will happily review your employment documents without charge, and suggest improvements where necessary or recommend additional policies and procedures which would benefit your business.

We will also provide you with a bespoke quote for ongoing employment law support through our Jacksons Employment Service.

Whilst following an outdated, or even worse, discriminatory policy or procedure may not only cause you to lose a claim, perhaps even one which you would otherwise have had grounds to defend, since 6 April 2014 the employment tribunal has held the power to order a losing employer (respondent) to pay a financial penalty of up to £5,000 to the Secretary of State where there are “aggravating features”, such as an unlawful or absent relevant employment document. A penalty may be ordered even if a financial award has not been made to the employee (claimant).

If you have recently updated your employment documents, or if you have a current set of policies and procedures which work for your business then we will not suggest amendments for the sake of it – but at least you will have peace of mind that you are protected. Alternatively, if it has been a while since you reviewed your contracts or staff handbook, particularly if your business has grown in size or expanded its operations, our Employment Documents Audit provides the ideal opportunity to start addressing these important matters.
