More recently, our team has acted in acquisitions of retail warehouses for a major chain; in port lettings for the offshore wind industry; for major house builders in the region in site acquisition and plot sales; for the developer of the only speculative industrial development in the north east; and in over 350 transactions for an electrical distribution company.

In addition, we have managed property investment portfolios for families and individuals with values up to £50 million and acted in numerous secured lending transactions with borrowing in excess of £1m. We have advised many of our clients for more than 20 years and supported their businesses through times of growth and difficulty alike.


Obtaining planning permission can be complex and time consuming.  At Jacksons our aim is to help you achieve your planning objectives and goals as efficiently as possible and achieve the best possible outcome for you and/or your business.

Our areas of expertise include lawful use and permitted development, stopping up orders and diversions, planning agreements, infrastructure agreements, public Rights of way and general negotiations with Local Authorities.


Our banking team represent a number of lenders including National Australia Group Europe Limited; Clydesdale Bank plc and Handelsbanken and has particular expertise in property security lending to all sectors including industrial, office, retail, leisure and health.


We provide advice and assistance on carrying out the legally required ‘right to rent’ checks and managing any issues arising from the checking process.

We offer a ‘Right to Rent’ fixed-fee deal, to make the checking process simple for landlords and those who sub-let property or take in lodgers. For a fixed-fee you would receive step-by-step advice on carrying out the checks together with an agreement to cover the arrangement between landlord and letting agent if you need one.
